Maureen P. Sullivan Obituary: Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Cherished Friend Remembered

Maureen P. Sullivan, nee Brennan, 73, has passed away, leaving behind a loving family, cherished friends, and a wide circle of people whose lives were touched by her kindness and warmth. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Maureen will be remembered for the love she gave so generously to those around her and for the many meaningful relationships she built throughout her life.

Maureen was the beloved wife of Kevin R. Sullivan, Ret. CFD, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Their life together was marked by love, devotion, family, and countless memories that will remain treasured by those closest to them.

She was a devoted mother to Michael (Devon) Sullivan, Julie (Pat) O’Brien, and Meg Sullivan, and was also the loving mother of the late John Sullivan. Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and her family remained at the heart of her life.

Maureen was especially proud of her grandchildren, Aidan, Claire, Regan, Molly, Sadie, and Keeley. She treasured the time she spent with them and leaves behind memories that her grandchildren and family will carry with them for years to come.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (nee Sugrue) Brennan of Cahersiveen, County Kerry, Ireland. Maureen also leaves behind her loving siblings Pat (Phil) McGovern, Eileen (Bill) Ristau, and Dan (Vicki) Brennan, as well as the late Joan (Wayne) Gray.

She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Gerry (Trudy) Sullivan, Brian (the late Ellie) Sullivan, Mary Kay (Jim) Quinlan, Jim (Judy) Sullivan, Joan (Steve) Springer, the late Mike (Mary Ann) Sullivan, Pat (the late Putsy) Sullivan, Tom (the late Eileen) Sullivan, Ted (the late Denny Kay) Sullivan, Sharon (Joe) Knight, Dennis Sullivan, and Joe (Judy) Sullivan.

Beyond her immediate family, Maureen will be remembered by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her connections extended into several communities and organizations, including Little Flower, Longwood, Mercy Hospital, and Palos Community Hospital, where she formed relationships that remained meaningful throughout her life.

Those who knew Maureen will remember her not simply through the titles she carried within her family, but through the warmth, loyalty, and compassion she brought into the lives of others. Her passing represents a profound loss for everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation for Maureen P. Sullivan will be held Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, Illinois 60415.

Family and friends are asked to gather directly at St. John Fisher Church, 10235 S. Fairfield Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60655, on Wednesday for Mass at 10:30 a.m.

The Mass will also be available to watch online through the livestream arranged for the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to Misericordia Heart of Mercy. Those making a donation are asked to include Luke Knight’s MFA #6458A and the name Maureen Sullivan with their contribution.
